Rhyming Words
Rhyming words are words that have similar ending sounds.
Examples:
🐱 cat – hat 🎩
🦇 bat – mat
☀️ sun – fun
🐕 dog – log
The teacher says the words while pupils repeat them.
Blending of Sounds
We can join sounds together to make words.
Examples:
c + a + t = cat
b + a + t = bat
m + a + t = mat
f + a + n = fan
Pupils should say each sound slowly and then join them together.
Objects in the Classroom
Some objects we can find in the classroom are:

Use of “A” and “An”
We use a before some words.
Examples:
- a book
- a bag
- a chair
- a pencil
We use an before words that begin with vowel sounds.
Examples:

- an orange 🍊
