E: CONTENT

Revision of Parts of Speech

Some important parts of speech are:

• Noun – names a person, animal, place or thing.
  • Examples: Ada, goat, Lagos, table.
• Pronoun – replaces a noun.
  • Examples: he, she, it, they.
• Verb – shows an action.
  • Examples: run, eat, write.
• Adjective – describes a noun.
  • Examples: tall, beautiful, red.

Revision of Sentences

A sentence is a group of words that gives complete meaning.
Examples:

• The boy is running.
• Ada has a red bag.
• We go to school every day.

Reading Passage

Chika woke up early on Monday. She cleaned her room, ate her breakfast and prepared for school. Her mother praised her for being responsible.
Questions:

1. When did Chika wake up?
2. What did she clean?
3. Who praised Chika?
4. Why was she praised?

Spelling Practice

Pupils should spell:

• school
• responsible
• morning
• teacher
• beautiful

Composition Revision

Write five sentences on:
My School
Example:
My school is a beautiful place. I learn many things in school. My teachers are kind and hardworking.
