Meaning of ICT

ICT means Information and Communication Technology. ICT involves the use of electronic devices to create, store, process and share information.

Importance of ICT

ICT helps us to:

  • communicate
  • learn
  • store information
  • send messages
  • do calculations
  • access educational materials

Analogue Systems

An analogue system shows information in a continuous form. Examples:

  • analogue clock 🕒
  • traditional thermometer
  • some older radio sets

Digital Systems

A digital system shows information using numbers, symbols or electronic signals. Examples:

  • digital clock
  • computer
  • calculator
  • smartphone

Differences Between Analogue and Digital Devices

Analogue devices usually use moving hands, dials or continuous signals. Digital devices often show numbers, words or images on a screen.
