E: CONTENT

Reading Prices

Examples:

  • Pencil – ₦100
  • Book – ₦500
  • Eraser – ₦50

Finding Total Cost

A book costs ₦500 and a pencil costs ₦100.
Total cost:

₦500 + ₦100 = ₦600

Subtraction of Money

If you have ₦1,000 and spend ₦400:

₦1,000 − ₦400 = ₦600

You have ₦600 left.

Finding Change

Ada buys a book for ₦700 and pays ₦1,000.
Change:

₦1,000 − ₦700 = ₦300

Ada receives ₦300 change.

Simple Shopping Problem

A ball costs ₦800 and a toy car costs ₦600.
Total cost:

₦800 + ₦600 = ₦1,400
