Meaning of Democracy

Democracy is a system in which people are allowed to choose their leaders.

Meaning of Democratic Practices

Democratic practices are activities that follow the principles of democracy.

Examples of Democratic Practices

  1. Voting during elections.
  2. Choosing leaders fairly.
  3. Allowing people to express their views.
  4. Following agreed rules.
  5. Respecting the choices of others.

Meaning of Voting

Voting is the act of choosing a person or option. 🗳️ People vote during elections to choose leaders.

Democratic Practice in the Classroom

Pupils can practise democracy by voting for:

  • class captain;
  • group leader;
  • club leader.

They should respect the result after the vote.
