E: CONTENT

Grains as Energy-Giving Crops

Grain crops such as: 🌽 Maize 🍚 Rice 🌾 Millet contain carbohydrates. Carbohydrates give the body energy.

Tubers as Energy-Giving Crops

Tuber crops such as: 🍠 Yam 🌱 Cassava 🥔 Potato also contain carbohydrates.

Foods Made From Grains

Examples include:

  • Pap.
  • Rice meals.
  • Corn flour.
  • Bread.

Foods Made From Tubers

Examples include:

  • Pounded yam.
  • Garri.
  • Fufu.
  • Fried yam.
  • Boiled potato.

Difference Between Grains and Tubers

Grains are mainly seeds. Tubers are enlarged underground parts. Both provide energy.
