E: CONTENT

Revision of SOCIAL STUDIES

SOCIAL STUDIES teaches us about people, how they live and how they relate with others. It also helps us learn about:

  • family,
  • school,
  • community,
  • environment.

Revision of the Environment

Natural features include:

  • 🌳 trees,
  • 🌊 rivers,
  • ⛰️ hills,
  • rocks.

Human-made features include:

  • 🏠 houses,
  • 🛣️ roads,
  • 🏫 schools,
  • bridges.

Revision of Culture

Culture is the way of life of a people. It includes:

  • language,
  • food,
  • dressing,
  • music,
  • dance,
  • festivals.

Revision of Cultural Preservation

We preserve good culture by:

  • teaching local languages,
  • telling traditional stories,
  • singing traditional songs,
  • wearing traditional clothes,
  • protecting cultural objects.

Revision of Food

Examples of foods include:

  • rice,
  • beans,
  • yam,
  • fish,
  • meat,
  • eggs,
  • fruits,
  • vegetables.

Revision of Food Classes

Carbohydrates: rice, yam, bread. Proteins: beans, fish, eggs. Vitamins: fruits and vegetables. Fats and oils: palm oil, butter.

Revision of Eating Together

Eating together promotes:

  • love,
  • unity,
  • communication.

Good table manners include:

  • washing hands,
  • sitting properly,
  • eating quietly,
  • keeping the eating area clean.

Revision of the Importance of Food

Food:

  1. Gives energy.
  2. Helps us grow.
  3. Repairs the body.
  4. Helps us stay healthy.
