Singular and Plural Nouns

A singular noun means one person, animal or thing.

A plural noun means more than one.

Examples:

• one book → two books
• one bag → two bags
• one boy → two boys
• one girl → two girls

Plurals Ending in “es”

Some words take es.

Examples:

• box → boxes
• bus → buses
• dish → dishes

Irregular Plurals

Some words change completely.

Examples:

• man → men
• woman → women
• child → children
• foot → feet

Possessive Pronouns

Possessive words show ownership.

Examples:

• my book
• your bag
• his cap
• her dress

• their house
