Animals Make Different Sounds

Many animals make special sounds. These sounds may help animals communicate with one another.

Common Animals and Their Sounds

🐕 Dog — barks. 🐈 Cat — meows. 🐄 Cow — moos. 🐐 Goat — bleats. 🐑 Sheep — bleats. 🐓 Cock — crows. 🐔 Hen — clucks. 🐦 Bird — chirps. 🐍 Snake — hisses. 🦁 Lion — roars.

Recognising Animals by Sound

Sometimes we can know an animal without seeing it because we recognise its sound. For example: “Woof! Woof!” — 🐕 Dog. “Meow!” — 🐈 Cat. “Moo!” — 🐄 Cow.
