Meaning of Plant Features

Features of plants are the things we can observe about plants. Plants may differ in:

1. Size.
2. Shape.
3. Colour.
4. Leaf shape.
5. Texture.

Size of Plants

Some plants are tall. 🌴 Palm tree — tall. Some plants are short. 🌿 Grass — short. Some plants are medium-sized.

Colour of Plants

Many leaves are green, but other parts of plants may have different colours. Examples: 🌺 Red flower. 🌼 Yellow flower. 🌸 Pink flower.

Shapes of Leaves

Leaves may have different shapes. Some leaves are:

• Long.
• Round.
• Narrow.
• Broad.

Texture of Plants

Some plant parts may feel:

• Smooth.
• Rough.
• Soft.
• Hard.

We should touch only safe plants with the teacher’s permission.

Grouping Plants

Plants can be grouped according to their features. For example:

• Tall plants and short plants.
• Plants with broad leaves and narrow leaves.
• Flowering plants and non-flowering plants.
