Major Parts of a Plant

The main parts of a plant are:

1. Root.
2. Stem.
3. Leaves.
4. Flower.

The Root

The root is usually found inside the soil. It helps to:

1. Hold the plant firmly in the soil.
2. Take in water from the soil.

The Stem

The stem holds the plant upright. It carries the leaves and flowers.

The Leaves

The leaves are usually green. They help the plant to make food. 🍃 Leaves may have different shapes and sizes.

The Flower

The flower is the colourful part of many plants. Flowers may later help plants to produce fruits and seeds. 🌺 Flowers may be red, yellow, white, purple or other colours.
