Meaning of a Plant
A plant is a living thing that grows in the soil or another suitable place. 🌱 Plants need water, air and sunlight to grow.
Main Parts of a Plant
A simple plant may have:
- Root
- Stem
- Leaves
- Flowers
- Fruits
Root
The root is usually found under the soil. It holds the plant firmly and takes in water from the soil.
Stem
The stem holds the plant upright. It carries leaves, flowers and fruits.
Leaves
The leaves are usually green. They help the plant to make food.
Flowers
Flowers may later develop into fruits in many plants.
Fruits
Fruits may contain seeds. Examples include mango, orange and tomato.
