Revision of Letter Sounds
Pupils revise some letter sounds.
Examples:
b – ball ⚽
c – cat 🐱
d – dog 🐶
f – fish 🐟
s – sun ☀️
Revision of Simple Words
Pupils should read:
- cat
- bat
- fan
- man
- dog
- sun
- pen
- bag
Rhyming Words
Words that sound alike at the end are rhyming words.
Examples:
- cat – bat
- man – fan
- sun – fun
- dog – log
Use of “A” and “An”
We use a before some words.
- a bag
- a cat
- a pen
We use an before words that begin with vowel sounds.
- an apple 🍎
- an egg 🥚
- an orange 🍊
Use of “He” and “She”
👦 He is used for a boy or man.
👧 She is used for a girl or woman.
Examples:
- He is a boy.
- She is a girl.
Simple Reading Passage
Ada has a cat. The cat is small. It can run. Ada likes her cat.
Questions:
- Who has a cat?
- Is the cat big or small?
- Can the cat run?
- Who likes the cat?
