Meaning of Religious Tolerance

Religious tolerance means respecting people who practise religions different from one’s own.

Meaning of Religious Intolerance

Religious intolerance means refusing to respect or accept people because of their religious beliefs.

Causes of Religious Intolerance

They may include:

  1. Lack of understanding.
  2. Prejudice.
  3. False information.
  4. Extremism.
  5. Disrespect for others.
  6. Political manipulation.

Effects of Religious Intolerance

Religious intolerance can cause:

  1. Fighting.
  2. Destruction of property.
  3. Loss of lives.
  4. Fear.
  5. Hatred.
  6. Disunity.
  7. Slow development.

Promoting Religious Tolerance

People should: 🤝 Respect one another. 🕊️ Live peacefully. 🗣️ Use dialogue to settle disagreements. ❤️ Show love and kindness. 🚫 Avoid insulting other people’s beliefs.
