Types of Composition

Narrative Composition

Descriptive Composition

Expository Composition

An expository composition explains something.
Example topic:
How to Keep Our Environment Clean

Argumentative Composition

An argumentative composition gives reasons for or against an idea.
Example topic:
School Uniforms Should Be Compulsory

Features of a Good Composition

A good composition should have:

  1. A suitable title.
  2. Introduction.
  3. Body paragraphs.
  4. Correct grammar.
  5. Correct spelling.
  6. Conclusion.

Formal Letter

Written to officials such as:

  • Head teacher.
  • Chairman.
  • Manager.

Important parts include:

Informal Letter

Written to friends and relatives.
