Revision of Drugs
A drug is a substance used to prevent, relieve or treat illness. Drugs may be:
- Naturally occurring.
- Synthetic.
Examples of synthetic drugs include:
- Paracetamol.
- Antibiotics.
- Antimalarial medicines.
Revision of Drug Abuse
Drug abuse is the wrong or harmful use of drugs. Drug abuse may cause:
- Poor health.
- Addiction.
- Poor school performance.
- Accidents.
- Damage to body organs.
Drug abuse can be prevented by using medicines correctly and avoiding unknown substances.
Revision of Weather
Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a particular time. Weather elements include:
- Temperature.
- Rainfall.
- Wind.
- Sunshine.
- Cloud cover.
Weather instruments include: 🌡️ Thermometer – temperature. 🌧️ Rain gauge – rainfall. 💨 Anemometer – wind speed. ➡️ Wind vane – wind direction.
Revision of the Solar System
The eight planets are:
- Mercury.
- Venus.
- Earth.
- Mars.
- Jupiter.
- Saturn.
- Uranus.
- Neptune.
Revision of Gravity
Gravity is a force that pulls objects towards the earth or other bodies with mass.
Revision of Rotation and Revolution
Rotation is the spinning of the earth on its axis. It takes about 24 hours and causes day and night. Revolution is the movement of the earth around the sun. It takes approximately 365¼ days.
Revision of Eclipses
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves between the sun and the earth. ☀️ → 🌑 → 🌍 A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth moves between the sun and the moon. ☀️ → 🌍 → 🌕
