Revision of Drugs
A drug is a substance used to prevent, relieve or treat illness. Drugs may be:
- Naturally occurring.
- Synthetic.
Drug abuse is the improper or harmful use of drugs. Drugs should always be used correctly.
Revision of Weather
Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a particular time. Elements include:
- Temperature
- Rainfall
- Wind
- Sunshine
- Cloud cover
- Humidity
Instruments include: 🌡️ Thermometer – temperature 🌧️ Rain gauge – rainfall 💨 Anemometer – wind speed ➡️ Wind vane – wind direction
Revision of Earth and Sky
Natural bodies in the sky include:
- Sun
- Moon
- Stars
- Planets
The earth is one of the eight planets in the solar system.
Revision of Rotation and Revolution
Rotation is the spinning of the earth on its axis. It takes approximately 24 hours and causes day and night. Revolution is the movement of the earth around the sun. It takes about 365¼ days.
Revision of Living and Non-Living Things
Living things:
- Grow.
- Feed.
- Respire.
- Reproduce.
- Respond to stimuli.
- Excrete.
Non-living things do not perform these life processes.
Revision of Crop Growing
Plants require:
- Water.
- Air.
- Sunlight.
- Suitable soil.
- Nutrients.
Manure, compost and fertilizers can help improve soil fertility when properly used.
Revision of Improving Crop Yield
Good crop yield can be encouraged by:
- Planting good seeds.
- Removing weeds.
- Controlling pests.
- Applying suitable nutrients.
- Watering properly.
- Harvesting at the correct time.
- Storing produce correctly.
Revision of the Circulatory System
The circulatory system consists mainly of: ❤️ Heart 🩸 Blood 🔴 Blood vessels The heart pumps blood around the body. The three main types of blood vessels are:
- Arteries.
- Veins.
- Capillaries.
