Revision of Sounds
Vowel sounds learnt include:
- /æ/ as in cat
- /ɑː/ as in car
- /ʌ/ as in sun
- /u/ as in book
- /uː/ as in food
- /e/ as in pen
Consonant sounds include:
- /p/ as in pen
- /f/ as in fan
- /b/ as in bag
Revision of Tenses
Present:
Tunde plays football.
Past:
Tunde played football.
Future:
Tunde will play football.
Present perfect:
Tunde has played football.
Revision of Adjectives and Adverbs
An adjective describes a noun.
Example:
The tall boy ran.
An adverb tells us more about a verb.
Example:
The boy ran quickly.
Revision of Modal Verbs
Examples:
- can
- may
- must
- should
- ought to
Sentences:
- You must obey school rules.
- We should keep our environment clean.
Active and Passive Voice
Active:
Ada washed the plates.
Passive:
The plates were washed by Ada.
Direct and Reported Speech
Direct:
Mother said, “Wash your hands.”
Reported:
Mother told me to wash my hands.
Revision of Formal Letter
Important parts include:
- Writer’s address.
- Date.
- Receiver’s address.
- Salutation.
- Title.
- Body.
- Closing.
- Name.
Revision of Invitations
An invitation asks someone to attend an event.
It may be:
- formal
- informal
Revision Passage
During the holiday, Chika visited her aunt in Abuja. She helped her aunt in the shop and read storybooks every evening. She has returned home and is ready for school.
