E: CONTENT

Revision of “Can” and “May”

We use can to show ability.

• I can swim.
• Bola can read.

We use may to ask for permission.

• May I come in?
• May I use your pencil?

Revision of Tenses

Present tense:

• I play football.
• She reads every day.

Past tense:

• I played football yesterday.
• She read the book yesterday.

Revision of Verbs

A verb is an action word.

Examples:

• run
• eat
• sing
• write
• jump

Revision of Informal Letter

An informal letter is written to someone we know well.

The main parts are:

1. Address.
2. Date.
3. Salutation.
4. Body.
5. Closing.
6. Writer’s name.

Simple Reading Passage

Amina woke up early on Saturday. She helped her mother to clean the house. Later, she visited her friend. They read a storybook and played together.

Questions:

1. When did Amina wake up early?
2. Who did she help?
3. What did Amina and her friend read?
4. What did they do after reading?
