E: CONTENT

Meaning of Transportation

Transportation means moving people or goods from one place to another.

Means of Transportation

🚗 Road transportation: car, bus, bicycle, motorcycle, truck.

🚆 Rail transportation: train.

✈️ Air transportation: aeroplane, helicopter.

🚢 Water transportation: boat, ship, canoe.

Transport Vocabulary

• driver – a person who drives a vehicle.
• passenger – a person travelling in a vehicle.
• station – a place where trains stop.
• airport – a place where aeroplanes take off and land.
• journey – travelling from one place to another.

Simple Reading Passage

Ada and her mother travelled to Abuja by bus. They arrived at the motor park early in the morning. Many passengers were already waiting. The driver checked the bus before they started the journey.

Questions:

1. Where did Ada travel to?
2. Who travelled with her?
3. Where did they go before the journey?
4. Who checked the bus?

Sentence Building

Use the words below in sentences:

Examples:

• The driver drives the bus.
