E: CONTENT
Parts of a Clock
A clock has numbers from 1 to 12.
It has two important hands:
- short hand – hour hand
- long hand – minute hand
🕒 When the minute hand points at 12 and the hour hand points at 3, the time is 3 o’clock.
O’Clock
Examples:
🕐 = 1 o’clock
🕓 = 4 o’clock
🕘 = 9 o’clock
Half Past
When the minute hand points at 6, it is half past the hour.
Example:
Half past 2 = 2:30
Quarter Past
When the minute hand points at 3, it is quarter past the hour.
Example:
Quarter past 4 = 4:15
Quarter To
When the minute hand points at 9, it is quarter to the next hour.
Example:
Quarter to 6 = 5:45
