Revision of Present Perfect Tense
Examples:

Use of “Since”
We use since to show when an action started.
Examples:
- since Monday
- since morning
- since January
- since 2025
Sentences:
- Ada has been here since Monday.
- We have lived here since January.
- Tunde has studied here since last year.
Use of “For”
We use for to show how long an action has continued.
Examples:
- for two days
- for three weeks
- for one year
- for five minutes
Sentences:
- Ada has been here for two days.
- We have lived here for one year.
- Tunde has waited for ten minutes.
Difference Between “Since” and “For”
Since tells us when something started.
For tells us how long it has continued.
Examples:
- since Monday
- for three days
Asking Questions
Question:
How long have you lived here?
Answer:
I have lived here for two years.
Question:
Has Ada been here since Monday?
Answer:
Yes, she has.
