Meaning of Printed Materials
Printed materials are materials that contain words, pictures or symbols that we can read.
Examples include:

- charts
Parts of a Book
A book has different parts.
Title
The title is the name of the book.
Example:
My English Book
Title Page
The title page usually contains the title of the book and the name of the author.
Page Number
A page number helps us find a particular page in a book.
Examples:
Page 5, Page 10, Page 25
Margin
A margin is the empty space at the side of a page.
Pupils should avoid writing outside the margin.
Pictures and Illustrations
Pictures and illustrations help us understand what we are reading.
Example:
🐘 A picture of an elephant can help us understand a passage about elephants.
Labels and Signs
A label gives the name of something.
Examples:
- Door
- Window
- Chair
A sign gives information or instruction.
