Revision of Food Nutrients

The main food nutrients are:

  1. Carbohydrates.
  2. Proteins.
  3. Fats and oils.
  4. Vitamins.
  5. Minerals.
  6. Water.

Carbohydrate Foods

Examples include: 🍚 Rice 🌽 Maize 🍠 Yam 🌱 Cassava They mainly give the body energy.

Protein Foods

Examples include: 🫘 Beans 🐟 Fish 🥩 Meat 🥚 Eggs 🥛 Milk They help the body to grow and repair tissues.

Fruits and Vegetables

Examples of fruits are: 🍊 Orange 🥭 Mango 🍌 Banana Examples of vegetables are: 🍅 Tomato 🌶️ Pepper 🥬 Spinach

Fats and Oils

Examples include:

  • Palm oil.
  • Groundnut oil.
  • Coconut oil.
  • Butter.

They provide energy and help keep the body warm.
