Meaning of Time
Time tells us when something happens.
We use a clock to tell time.

Parts of a Clock
A clock has hands.
- The short hand shows the hour.
- The long hand shows the minutes.
Hours and Minutes
1 hour = 60 minutes
Example:
If the short hand points to 3 and the long hand points to 12, the time is:
3 o’clock
🕒 = 3:00
Half-Hour
Half of one hour is 30 minutes.
Example:
🕝 = 2:30
This is called half past two.
Seconds
1 minute = 60 seconds
Seconds are used to measure very short periods of time.
