The pupils have learnt addition and subtraction with regrouping, three-digit operations, odd and even numbers, open sentences, multiplication and grouping.

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  2. Identify odd and even numbers.
  3. Complete open sentences.
  4. Multiply simple numbers by 2 and 3.

Revision of Addition

Example:

28 + 17 = 45

Revision of Subtraction

Example:

42 − 18 = 24

Revision of Odd and Even Numbers

Even numbers end in:

0, 2, 4, 6, 8

Examples:

12, 24, 36, 48

Odd numbers end in:

1, 3, 5, 7, 9

Examples:

11, 23, 35, 47

Revision of Open Sentences

5 + ☐ = 9

Answer: 4

10 − ☐ = 6

Answer: 4

Revision of Multiplication

2 × 5 = 10

3 × 4 = 12

12 × 2 = 24

Revision of Grouping

  • 1 dozen = 12
  • 2 dozen = 24
  • 1 score = 20
  • 2 scores = 40
