Revision of Tenses

Present Tense

The present tense tells us about an action happening now or often.

• I play football.
• Ada reads every day.

Past Tense

The past tense tells us about an action that has already happened.

• I played football yesterday.
• Ada read yesterday.

Future Tense

The future tense tells us about an action that will happen later.

• I will play football tomorrow.
• Ada will read tomorrow.

Simple Poetry

A poem is a short piece of writing that can be read or recited.

Simple Poem – “The Sun”

The sun is bright,

It gives us light.

It shines all day,

Then goes away.

Rhyming Words

Words that rhyme have similar ending sounds.

Examples from the poem:

• bright – light
• day – away

☀️ bright – light

🌞 day – away

Reading Practice

Pupils should read the poem slowly and clearly.

They should also pronounce each word correctly.
