Meaning of Personal Hygiene

Personal hygiene means keeping our bodies and personal belongings clean.

Ways of Keeping the Body Clean

We should:

  1. Bathe regularly.
  2. Brush our teeth.
  3. Wash our hands.
  4. Keep our fingernails clean.
  5. Keep our hair clean.
  6. Wear clean clothes.
  7. Use clean towels and other personal items.

Bathing

🛁 We should bathe regularly with clean water and soap. Bathing helps remove:

  • sweat;
  • dirt;
  • bad smell.

Brushing the Teeth

🪥 We should brush our teeth regularly. This helps to keep our:

  • teeth clean;
  • mouth fresh;
  • gums healthy.

Washing the Hands

🧼 We should wash our hands:

  • before eating;
  • after using the toilet;
  • after playing outside;
  • when they are dirty.

Keeping Clothes Clean

👕 We should wear clean clothes. Dirty clothes may smell bad and carry germs.

Benefits of Good Personal Hygiene

Good hygiene:
