Meaning of Work
Work is an activity people do to provide goods, services or earn a living.
Meaning of Traditional Occupation
A traditional occupation is a type of work that people have practised for many years in their communities.
Farming
👨🌾 Farmers grow crops such as:
- yam;
- maize;
- cassava;
- vegetables.
Some farmers also rear animals.
Fishing
🎣 Fishermen catch fish from rivers, lakes and other waters.
Hunting
Hunters go into forests or bushes to hunt animals. Hunting must follow laws that protect wildlife.
Pottery
🏺 Potters make pots and other objects from clay.
Weaving
Weavers make cloth, baskets, mats and other useful items.
Blacksmithing and Carving
Blacksmiths make metal tools. Carvers make useful and decorative objects from wood.
