Meaning of Safety Precautions

Safety precautions are actions we take to prevent danger and keep ourselves safe.

Safety Around Fire

🔥 Children should:

• not play with matches;
• not touch fire;
• move away from dangerous fires;
• tell an adult quickly.

Safety Around Sharp Objects

Children should:

• avoid playing with knives and blades;
• not touch broken bottles;
• tell an adult when they see dangerous sharp objects.

Road Safety

🚦 Children should:

1. Walk with a responsible adult where needed.
2. Stop and look carefully before crossing.
3. Use safe crossing points where available.
4. Avoid playing on the road.

Electrical Safety

⚡ Children should:

• not touch exposed wires;
• not put objects into sockets;
• stay away from damaged electrical appliances;
• tell an adult if they notice an electrical danger.

Personal Safety

Children should:

• not follow unfamiliar people without permission;
• not accept rides or leave school with someone unless approved by a parent or caregiver;
