Meaning of Data
Data means information that we collect.
Example:
We can ask pupils which fruit they like.

Collecting Data
Suppose five pupils choose fruits:
- Ada – Apple
- Tunde – Banana
- Bisi – Apple
- Chidi – Orange
- Musa – Apple
We can count the answers.
Apple = 3 pupils
Banana = 1 pupil
Orange = 1 pupil
Simple Pictograph
A pictograph uses pictures to show information.
Favourite Fruits
Apple: 🍎🍎🍎
Banana: 🍌
Orange: 🍊
From the pictograph:
- Apple has the most.
- Banana and orange have one each.
